LIFELONG CENTER (LLRC)

What is the LLRC? What is the LLRC?

The Lifelong Learning Resource Center (LLRC) is about and for the community of Rainier.

This ole' schoolhouse structure resembles a foundation in the community which has withstood the weather of time. She is now experiencing a metamorphasis, or reincarnation, if you will. She has evolved in her wisdom which not only provides children an avenue to learn and create but accomodates her children's children and their parents too. The usability and function of this center relies completely on what you the community care to provide and upkeep.

We now have accomplished restoring the roof, heating system and exterior upkeep.  Windows, plumbing and wiring are next.  Then the interior rooms and provided we have some library volunteers, there will be books for your perusal.

The LLRC is set up to encourage information gathering and sharing between members of this town, an information exchange center for Rainier.  We hope to soon have a reception area which will allow the building open daily.  You will be able to access a community bulletin board and information about the building.  We hope to be the job information center as well as a central area for you to leave and get any other information necessary to individuals, clubs and organizations in the area.

An open door will be the policy, now we are informing you...IT'S TIME! We have a wonderfully overworked board of directors who have traveled a long and arduous journey to secure this pearl of a building and complete the first few areas of restoration. This building has meant everything to the Rainier Historical Society whose dream was to have this Lifelong Learning Resource Center and to be the hub of the community. Their hearts were big enough and strong enough to hold the dream, now the rest is up to you and I. And that means me and you, John Q. Public.
