The Rainier Roundup happens on the fourth weekend of August when Blue Grass Bands roll into Wilkowski Park and the city is abuzz with happenings. The 2012 Round Up will be held on August 24, 25 and 26th. It is never too early to mark your calendar to make sure you don't miss a great weekend right here in Rainier. Vendors are sponsored by the Rainier Historical Society and are here from Friday through Sunday. For a space you may make contact through this web site or pick up an application at the Historic School Library or Thrift Store or the Rainier City Hall.
Round Up Events on August 24 thru 26 will be an informal weekend of Bluegrass pickin' and grinnin' @ Wilkowski Park. Friday night dinner, sponsored by the Rainier Lion's Club where a little pickin and grinnin' may come into play also. Corn is served every evening at the park and the Senior Center Bake sale is found at the Blue Grass gate. Vendors Row opens on Friday morning and we are hoping to have about 45 vendors present.
On Saturday: The Round Up Parade at 11 a.m. (Get applications for the parade at city hall or give contact information through this web site and the information will be passed along.) There are things to see and do: Vendors Row, the Bluegrass Shows and a Saturday evening street dance. Sunday brings the Gospel Jam and many of the vendors are on vendors row until mid afternoon.
