We Need You!

The Rainier Historical Society is looking for supporters.

We need your support to renovate the Rainier Historic School, 207 Centre St.  Using this historic building makes sense.  It was built with old growth timber and has come through many an earthquake without damage to it's structure.  Can we say as much for our capitol or some of our homes?  Even though renovation is not complete it already houses many things. Though the Rainier Food Bank is closed at this time the clothing bank is still at the thrift store.  The Rainier Library is on the main floor.  The Rainier Historical Society has made this a building that the community can use for meetings and social gatherings.  It is a building that the community can use and that makes sense folks!  If you would like to use the building please contact us through this site.

Please see your way clear to make the Historic School one of your regular charities.  Thank you.

Support & Volunteers

Please remember that much of our support is volunteering to help.  Right now we are in need of people who can volunteer some time to the Thrift Store (supports the building utilities and daily function), and the Rainier Library.  Thrift Store hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10 to 4 and Library hours are from 12 noon to 4 .   Come help for a three hour shift or all day.

The Rainier Food Bank is closed at this time.

We could use help with . . .  paint, paint, paint. Stripping of layers of old paint off of woodwork (doors, trim, moulding) and refinish with sanding and varnish.

DONATIONS?  Yes, we take your gently used donations.  No large furniture.  (We don't have room for the larger items or TV and computer etc.)  You can receive an invoice for your donations for IRS purposes.  Please do not drop off items without someone acknowledging your presence and accepting your donation.  (Did you know it is illegal to drop things off without someone present to accept it?)

Please use our "contact us" button for any and all questions related to the Building Renovation or LifeLong Learning Center.
