Capitol Campaign: Raising one million dollars to restore the Historic School was the goal of the Rainier Historical Society. In 2005 we gained title to the building and have since restored a large portion of the building through grants and raising dollars via the Thrift Store. At present one of the main fund raisers is the pledge campaign. If you have not pledged or donated to the fund yet, please give it some serious consideration. Donations can be made to the Rainier Historical Society, P O Box 1024, Rainier WA 98576.
Many of us donate to one or more worthy causes and what could be more worthy than a multi use building right here in Rainier? It presently houses the Food Bank, Meeting Rooms, The Rainier Library, and the Ol' School Gallery. We hope to get the renovations finished this year and get a start on our picture museum. Please consider the Historic School in your list of giving.
Buy A Brick: We are selling bricks. When we get the inside of the building finished and begin the landscaping we will make the final descision as to how they will be used. One suggestion has been around a flag pole. We would like you to give us your idea for placement of the bricks. Would you rather see a wall, a walkway or do you envision some other design. Send us your ideas via this site.
